Wellness Specialist

Duties and Responsibility:
Health educators teach people about behaviors that promote wellness. They develop and implement strategies to improve the health of individuals and communities. Community health workers collect data and discuss health concerns with members of specific populations or communities.
Salary: $43,840

Education:
In order to become a wellness specialist you need a bachelor's degree in health. You will also need to get in a health program, which includes an internship. When you finish your school you can work as a health teacher or a public educator.
Demand; There is no demand but their is a job growth by 13%.

Reflection: I would not like to be a wellness specialist because i don't want to become a teacher. An i would rather work in a hospital, than a school.

Sports Medicine

Duties and responsibilities:
Sports medicine physicians work with athletes and sports teams at all levels to help heal athletic injuries. These physicians are specialized in either surgical or non-surgical procedures. In order to become sports medicine physicians, candidates must complete medical school, earn a license, complete a residency and fellowship, and earn board certification in sports medicine.

Salary; $204,813
Education:
In order to become a sports medicine you need to obtain a bachelor's degree. After you're done you enter Medical School, to complete the courses. This sports medicine are also know a lot about the skeletal system, which they do procedures in how to pop or put back in place a dislocated bone. You also as well are advising coaches and players about issues. You also must complete a residence where it's programs that last for three years.
Demand: There is no demand because this job is expected to grow for an 18%.
Reflection: I would like to be a sports medicine, because it involves you working in the medical field. And you also meet famous people, that play in sports. Also i wouldn't like to be one because i am not a sports fanatic.

Speech Pathologist
Duties and responsibilities:
Speech Pathologist are known for speech language, and help individuals with speaking problems, and swallowing, and language. They can work anywhere, in schools, hospitals, clinics etc.

Salary:$66,920
Education:
Speech therapy training programs involve language and speech pathology studies in a 2-3 year master's degree program. In these programs students learn relevant anatomy and physiology as well as linguistic, phonology, and communication assessment skills. After didactic coursework students complete 20-40 hours of on-site supervised clinical training. Upon graduation and certification from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association speech therapists can work in a variety of medical fields such as hospitals or private practices.

Demand: There are no demands on this profession, but there is a job growth, by 19%.

Reflection: I would not like to be a speech pathologist because i myself isn't good at speaking. And i would really fit this job, and i want a career in which i am moving.

Medical Scientist
Duties and Responsibilities:
Medical scientists help develop new medical breakthroughs that benefit humanity. This process involves a great deal of research and performing clinical trials to find out the effects of new drugs and vaccines. Many medical scientists enter into joint M.D. and Ph.D. programs, and those interacting directly with patients need a physician's license.
Salary;$90,230
Education:
In order to become a medical scientist you need a bachelor's degree, as well as a masters degree. You are also going to need to go into medical school, which you get a M.D in medicine. In order to work with patients you are going to be licensed by the state.
Demand: There is no demand whats so ever but there is a growth rate by 13%.


Reflection: I would not like to be a Medical Scientist because it involves science and i would prefer to be something else besides this.

           Registered Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
              Registered nurses are healthcare professionals who care for patients and educate them about their health conditions. Becoming an RN requires the completion of a post secondary program, usually an associate or bachelor's degree, although a few hospitals have teaching programs that offer diplomas. Aspiring nurses learn about topics such as anatomy and human development and gain extensive supervised clinical experience. Nurses also must be licensed in their states, which requires passing an exam.

Salary: $66,220
Education:
In order to become a registered nurse you must complete your associate's degree. Once completed you also need a Bachelor's degree in nursing. Some courses you take can be community health, leadership in nursing,  also healthcare management and many more. You also need to get licensed by the state, which means you must take an exam.
Demand: There is no demand on this profession. But there is a job growth of 19%.

Reflection; i would not like to be a registered nurse because i do not have patients with working with old people. I wouldn't fit in this job because it deals with people who are old, and some may have memory loss. And i just don't want to deal with that.

Recreation Therapist
Duties and responsibilities:
Students in a recreational therapy program learn to plan and implement sports and recreational activities that assist with the rehabilitation of physically, mentally, and socially disabled people. Programs in recreation therapy are available at the associate's, bachelor's and master's degree levels.

Salary: $50,987
Education:
You have to go to a 4 year college and earn your associate's, and bachelor. Then you can earn your master's degree.  You do some courses like anatomy, physiology and courses that involve recreational time. You can also get a course in recreational art.
Demand: There is no demand as of right now but there is a growth rate, by 13%.

Reflection: I would not like to be a recreation Therapist because I do not want to deal with people's problems. This job pays little as well. And yes it's a job on the hands, but not the type of work i want to do.

Surgeon
Duties and responsibilities:
Surgeons are medical doctors who perform operations as their primary method of treatment. Within this field, one can specialize even further in areas like orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular or plastic surgery, among other areas. Since surgeons practice a specialized form of medicine, the education and training criteria are rigorous, often taking up to sixteen years to complete.

Education:
You must complete 4 years of college and get your bachelor's degree. After you also need to got to medical school, which is another 4 years, and you must earn a M.D. After you're done you will need to complete a residency which can take up to  3-8 years working in the hospital.

Demand: There is no demand for this job. There is a growth rate. Being a surgeon grow by 18% as of 2012.

Reflection: I would like to be a surgeon because it's pretty cool how you open up a body. And your environment is a lot of blood. And I want to help people. And being a  surgeon is looking into a person who has something wrong with them in the inside. And you'll be there to say it's going to be OK.

Mental Health Counselor
Duties and responsibilities
:Mental health counselors are trained in the use of various therapies to assist clients with long-term mental and emotional issues, as well as more isolated issues like job problems. Requiring empathy and excellent listening skills, this career is best for individuals who are emotionally stable. In order to become a licensed mental health counselor in most states, a master's degree is required.

Education:
The education you must need is a bachelor's and a masters degree. You need a masters in counseling, psychology, and other mental health related fields. You also need to be licensed in by the state.
Demand: There is no demand because there's an increase of growth in this job. It grew by 29%.

Reflection:

I would not like to be a mental health counselor because it deals with people who don't really understand. And i dont have the passion or patience to do this job. So i would not like to do this job.

Duties and Responsibilities:
      Nursing home administrators manage the operations of a nursing home or assisted living facility that cares for the elderly that are physically or mentally challenged residents. They help elderly with taking medications, to showering them or changing them into clothes. In order to be this you must be available in the evening, weekends and holidays.
Salary:  $65,000-$90,000 or even $100,000
Education:
 In order to become a nursing home administrator you must have a bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree are common as well. You also must be licensure and certified are required in all states. Some skills needed are problem solving, communication skills, ability to use medical software.
Reflection:

I would not like to be a nursing home administrator because I don’t like to deal with old people; I just wouldn’t have the patients with them. I prefer to be on a go job where you’re active walking around.

Duties and responsibilities:
          A neonatologist is the medical specialty of taking care of newborns babies, sick babies, and premature babies. Neonatologist is a fancy way for saying baby doctor. They help babies that need extra oxygen because there lungs have not develop completely.

Education:
          Most doctor need training programs that are taught at medical school, 4- year collages or allied health schools. Majority of students already hold a bachelor’s degree and have health care background. You also need to pass a certification examination.
                                                                       
Reflection:

 I would like to be a neonatologist because it’s in the medical field. And it deals with babies/taking care of them. And how you save little lives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
                Oncologists are physicians and surgeons who evaluate and treat patients suffering from cancer. Their responsibility includes talking with patients about symptoms and examining signs of the disease. They also analyze test results, and discuss treatments options and monitor patient’s progress during therapy.
Salary: $184,820
Education:
                You need a Bachelor’s degree, and it must include course work in biological and chemical sciences. You also need to get in to a good school which requires you to pass a MCAT. This is a program that takes four years to complete, and includes classroom studies, lab work, and supervised clinical or hospital rotations. You also need a 3-8 years of internship and residence. Last you need to be licensed.
 
Reflection:
 I would not like to be an oncologist because I wouldn’t like to be telling people that their son/or daughter has cancer. I would find it devastating. Like I find it sad dealing with people that are sick that in a matter of time they end up dying. I would not like to be an oncologist.

Healthcare Administrator
 Duties and Responsibility:
`               A Healthcare Administrator oversees clinical units departments and the entire hospital. These profession manager personnel, financial, and facilitated practices. They would also manage at investors meetings, governing boards. These administrators lead the institution.
Salary: $101,340-$155,130
Education:
                This healthcare administrators hold at least four year bachelor’s degree and many more purses. You also must complete a two to three year to complete an Education on business or health administrator. You also must go to training for this job. You also don’t need to be license. This healthcare must be problem solvers because you need to solve problems.

 
Reflection:
 I would not like to be a healthcare Administrator because it’s too much work. A you literally run the hospital. You take charge in the bills and medicine. Your day would be too busy.

          Dentist
Duties and Responsibility:
          Dentists are responsible for diagnosing and treating problems with the teeth, gums, and tissue in the mouth. These doctors instruct individuals on brushing, flossing, and all other aspects of dental care. Dentists will meet with patients in their office routinely and remove tooth decay, fill cavities, repair teeth, and treat gum diseases.
Salary: $97,820
Education:
          You must have a bachelor’s degree for being admitted into dental school. Undergrads should focus on many science courses, like biology and chemistry. All applicants must take the Dental Admissions Test (DAT), and dental schools will focus an individual's DAT score, GPA, recommendations, and interviews. Dental school is a 4-year commitment and includes classes on microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology, as well as clinical practices, safety, and professional ethics. Dentists are required to be licensed in the state they are working in, which requires passing a written and practical examination.
Reflection:
 
I would not like to be a dentist because I don’t want to smell people breathe. An I also don’t want to be taking out teeth and dealing with kids crying.
